Subject: safety
Message: We have purchased a Velorex 565 and putting it on a 1997 Harley police bike. Will be using it for our 10 y.o grandson. Can we install a seatbelt? Do sidecars have a good safety rating? Thanks for any help you can give us.

Yes, a seat belt can be installed. As with motorcycles and motor sports/recreation in general, the safety of riding with a sidecar is relative. The best thing you can do for your own safety and that of your passenger is to take some sidecar training.
