Details of the Limited Warranty
Sidecars (both Cozy and Velorex) carry a limited warranty against manufacturing defects for a period of five years from the date of sale. The 5-year limited warranty covers the sidecar body, frame, wheel, fender, windscreen, bumpers, racks, and wheel bearings. The warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of defective parts at the discretion of Classic Motorworks dba Cycle Sidecar.
The warranty does not include wear parts such as tires, tubes, upholstery, mats, tonneau cover, bulbs, paint, rust, windshield clarity, chrome, and other finishes. On Velorex sidecars specifically, cracks in the fiberglass or paint are also excluded from warranty coverage. Rubber parts such as the suspension rubber bands carry a 2-year limited warranty. Any damage due to negligence, accidents, or misuse is excluded, as are racing and other forms of abuse. The limited warranty does not cover labor costs for installation or other work, and customers are responsible for shipping costs on warranty parts. Warranties do not cover consequential or incidental damages, including injury or damage to your sidecar, motorcycle, or other property.
Many of our replacement parts carry their own limited warranty against defects for various periods of time, calculated from the date of sale. This warranty does not include wear parts such as tires, tubes, bulbs, paint, chrome, and other finishes. For wear parts such as suspension rubber bands, a warranty replacement does not extend coverage beyond the original part's warranty — if a rubber band is replaced under warranty, it carries the remaining warranty of the original set of rubber bands, not a new warranty period. Similarly, if a windshield is replaced under warranty, coverage still expires with the original 5-year warranty. Any damage due to negligence, accidents, or other misuse is excluded. Electrical items of any type are excluded from warranty coverage.
None of the limited warranties we offer are transferable.
Claims must be filed within 30 days of failure. To file a warranty claim or ask questions, call or email us at 623-512-0377 or customerservice@classicmotorworks.com.
Returns
Product returns are accepted on new, unused, and unaltered products within 15 days of the original invoice date, with the exception of sidecars. Returned parts are subject to a 15% restocking fee. If you'd like to return an item after 15 days from the original invoice date, please contact us. If we accept an individual part that was originally sold as part of a larger kit, the reimbursement will be less than its listed price as a standalone item. Returns must include all original parts and materials and must be shipped back to us in an appropriate shipping box. You are responsible for return shipping, except in cases where we made a mistake or shipped defective merchandise.
Sidecars
Once a sidecar ships from our warehouse, it is not returnable — it becomes your property at that point, with no exceptions. If a sidecar arrives damaged for reasons other than shipping-company damage, we will repair it or replace the damaged items at our discretion. Please note: once the unit leaves our warehouse, damage claims related to trucking/shipping company damage are your responsibility. We act as your agent when booking shipping for sidecars, and as such will help you file a damage claim, but we are not responsible for the outcome.
We do not accept returns of any electrical item.
Return Instructions
Email customer service at customerservice@classicmotorworks.com. Let us know which item(s) you're returning and the reason for the return. Repackage the item(s) with the original invoice and original packaging, and follow the instructions we provide. We'll process your return once the merchandise is received and inspected, and apply a refund to the original payment method.
Return Restrictions
For customer-initiated returns (except in cases of defective or erroneous items), return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility. We cannot accept collect or COD packages. A refund or exchange will be refused for non-salable or damaged merchandise, and we will not be able to return it to you without additional shipping charges. We also do not accept returns of electrical parts or accessories. All sidecars are non-returnable for any reason.
Shipping Policies
Once a shipment leaves our facility or warehouse, Classic Motorworks is no longer responsible for the condition or location of the package, or any damage inflicted during shipping. Any issues not caused by Classic Motorworks should be taken up with the carrier as a claim. Classic Motorworks is not responsible for filing this claim — that responsibility lies with the recipient. However, we will do what we can to help.
Terms and Conditions
By submitting your order, you are offering to buy the goods at the price set out in the order. The contract between us is concluded when we accept your offer by shipping the goods. We are not obliged to supply the goods to you, and no contract exists between us until that point. You do not own the goods until we receive payment in full. All sales are final; returns or refunds are only available as outlined above.
Liability Disclaimer
Assembly, mounting, and installation of your sidecar — including alignment, toe-in and lean-out adjustment, wiring, and all related setup — is the sole responsibility of the customer or the customer's chosen installer. Any instructions, guides, or advice provided by Classic Motorworks dba Cycle Sidecar are offered as general guidance only and do not substitute for qualified mechanical installation. We strongly recommend that assembly and mounting be performed or verified by a qualified motorcycle mechanic or sidecar installer.
Classic Motorworks dba Cycle Sidecar is not liable for any injury, death, property damage, or other loss arising from improper assembly, mounting, adjustment, maintenance, modification, or use of a sidecar or its components, whether performed by the customer, a third party, or anyone else. This includes, without limitation, damage or injury resulting from failure to follow provided instructions, use of incompatible motorcycles or components, unauthorized modification, inadequate maintenance, or operation of the sidecar-equipped motorcycle in an unsafe manner.
The customer assumes full responsibility for verifying the compatibility of a sidecar with their specific motorcycle, and for confirming that the completed installation is safe and roadworthy before operating the vehicle. Riding with an improperly mounted or maintained sidecar can result in serious injury or death. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Classic Motorworks dba Cycle Sidecar disclaims all liability for direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the purchase, assembly, installation, or use of any product we sell.

Buyer Beware
We debated including this section — it's bad form to say anything about competitors — but decided it needed to be said for the good of the sidecar industry. This warning wasn't necessary in our small industry until fairly recently. At that time everyone sold quality units and gave honest advice.
More recently, reputable dealers and manufacturers have had to clean up after a couple of companies selling poor-quality units that don't fit properly, don't carry parts, and have left many unhappy customers behind.
A couple of companies sell units at an impossibly low price and claim they'll work on any motorcycle or scooter. Please do your homework on these companies and look for genuine (not planted) customer reviews. Their customers often end up with something that's all but unusable — missing parts, and a warranty that's nearly impossible to collect on unless you chase an overseas manufacturer.
There's no such thing as a sidecar that safely works with every bike — power, size, and weight of both the bike and sidecar all matter. A reputable manufacturer or dealer will advise you openly and honestly about what will actually work for your situation. If our sidecar isn't a good fit for you, we'll do our best to refer you to a company with a product that fits your situation better. There's no obligation whatsoever — give us a call anytime at 623-512-0377.
